Laura Rowena Meador, age 87, of Shannon Hills, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026 at her home.  She was born August 16, 1938 in Havana, Arkansas.  Rowena was a 1957 graduate of Little Rock Central High School and a member of Lake Point Church of Christ in Maumelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlton & Irene Gray of Booneville; sister, Avay Jaynes of North Little Rock; daughter, Laura Jean Porter of Bauxite; and a great-grandson, Randall Smith Jr. of Benton.

Rowena is survived by her husband of 66 years, David G. Meador of Shannon Hills; two sons, James R. Meador of New Boston, Texas and Mark A. Meador of Rogers; sister, Jeanette Bryant of Booneville; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.  Jack Avaritt will be officiating.
