Lewis Don Greer, 87, of Benton, passed away Thursday June 20, 2024.  He was born March 29, 1937 in the Mt. Olive Community of Bauxite. Lewis served in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army Reserves.  He worked for American Cyanamid for over 40 years.

He coached Optimist Club Baseball and served as its President.  Lewis also coached Benton Future Panther Football for several years.  He was happiest when he was fishing, spending time with family & friends, and "solving the world's problems" with his McDonald's buddies.

Lewis is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy & Lizzie Greer; his brothers, Harold, Bill, and Phillip; and his sister, Gladys.  He is also preceded in death by his extended family, Ervin & Sadie Wright, Roy Lee Wright, Billie Sue Wilson, and Ross & Linda Reeves.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn; two sons, Kent Lewis Greer (Cheryl) and Kelly Don Greer (Karen); four grandchildren, Bryan Greer (Lindsey), Jenna Cervantes (Charlie), Casey Greer (Lana), and Carri Anderson (Nick); six great-grandchildren, Keegan Newton, Quinn Greer, Gray Greer, Collin Don Greer, Emmy Greer; and Charli Anderson; and his extended family, Steve Reeves (Karen), Lori Ascough (Eric), Shari Mills (Tommy), and Kristi Bundrick (Jim).

Pallbearers will be Marty Hyatt, Mark Gay, Brian Swenson, Gil Wayne Polk, Tommy Tarver, and Eric Ascough.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Tedford, Bob Tarver, Rex Gismond, Ronnie Woodall, Bill Nutt, and Tommy Mills.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27 at Pinecrest Memorial Park.  Bro. Steve Reeves will be officiating. The family requests that everyone dress casually.
