Obituary

Lila "Joan" Haynes, 91, of Benton entered the gates of Heaven on May 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 13, 1933 in Benton to the late Reace and Velma Carter.

Joan was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Benton for over 65 years.  She served on various committees at the church and also sang in the choir until she moved to Mt. Carmel Community.  She then attended the televised service of Pulaski Heights Methodist dressed in her Sunday best in her home.  Joan enjoyed her years at Mt Carmel and made many dear friends.  She participated in every activity they offered.

She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by Jack Haynes, her loving husband of 53 years in 2010.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Carter.

She was survived by 3 daughters, Linda Webb (Ronny) of Greenville, MS, Pam Breckinridge (Rick) and Jacque Noles all of Benton, 1 son, Mark Haynes of Texas, eight grandchildren Amy Nalley (Kevin) of Springdale, Chad Hendrix (Anna), Deanna Garber (Pat), Emily Helton (Josh), Jared Haynes (Carmen) all of Benton, Faranak Matheny, West Monroe, LA, Ben Ozbun (Tara) Rolling Brook, MS and Andy Ozbun (Sarah) Greenville, MS.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Kinlee, Jax, and Knox Nalley, Evie, Micheal and Merritt Hendrix, Donnely, Eli and Norah Fuller, Vincent Wright, Kynley, and Baylor Helton, Jack and Ella Ozbun, Morgan, Luke, and Olivia Ozbun, Beckett, Brookes, and Blaire Haynes. She is also survived by her brothers Lester (Eunice) Carter and Bobby (Wanda) Carter as well as her special niece, Patti (Russell) Morrison.

Church service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Dodson officiating.  Burial will be at New Rosemont Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 N. Market St., Benton, AR 72015.
