Lois Maureen Childress 71 of Haskell, AR passed away Wednesday April 10, 2024 at SMH.  She was born December 7, 1952 in Malvern, AR daughter of Robert and Frances Patterson who preceded her in death.

Maureen retired from Benton Veneer Company and was an avid hunter and fisherman with her husband Paul and grandchildren.   She loved traveling to Branson, Missouri and visiting Silver Dollar City.

Maureen is survived by her husband of 28 years Paul Bailey Childress, three stepdaughters Julia (Larry) of Malvern, Jennifer (Roberto) of Hot Springs and Kim (Lea) of Malvern.  Five grandchildren whom she loved and adored immensely Jacob Galloway of North Platte, NE Brandon Porterfield of Hot Springs, AR,  Caleb Montgomery of North Platte, NE, Olivia Romero of Hot Springs, AR and Benjamin Rubio of Hot Springs, AR.

Mawmaw Maureen had one precious great-grandchild Levi Porterfield, son of Brandon

Maureen is also survived by two sisters Marsha of Traskwood, AR and Pam (Ron) of Haskell, AR and one brother Emmett of Alabama. She was preceded in death by three brothers and 3 sisters.

A celebration of life gathering will be held by the family at a later date.

Thank you to the employees of Harps and Dollar General of Haskell for all the help, love and support they gave to our wife, mother and sister.   She loved to shop and loved you all.  You are amazing.

Maureen loved and cared for her husband until the very end, carrying her vows out of in sickness and in health.  She was a wonderful wife and grandmother that passed on so many special things to carry on for many years to come.  She will be enormously missed until we meet again.
