Mr. Lorenzo Cordale Payne, age 38, of Benton, departed this life on June 25, 2025.

He was born January 12, 1987 in Benton, Arkansas to LaShawn Payne Elliott (Phillip).  Lorenzo also leaves behind his grandfather, Joe T. Darrough; his children, Elias Cordell Payne, Lorenzo Cordell Payne Jr., Immanuel Khaled Payne, and Amani Renee Payne; siblings, Deanna Q. Watts (Kiley), Demetris Woods Jr. (Jordan); Linda Tanika Woods, and Omarcus King; step-sister, Phillipian Hood (Cornelius); special aunts, Joyce Danough and Felicia Lewis; special grandmother, V. L. Harris; and a very special friend, Diann Crouse.

Lorenzo is preceded in death by his grandmother, Linda Faye Darrough.

He attended Benton High School and worked nearly a decade for Doug's Asphalt Service.

Lorenzo confessed his life to Jesus and was baptized at a very young age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  He was known and affectionately loved by everyone.  Lorenzo never met a stranger and you could always count on him for a good laugh.  He was family focused, enjoyed Sunday dinner, watching movies, fishing, hunting, most sports, and talking on the phone to his brothers & sisters.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at Ashby Funeral Home.

A Celebration of His Life and Legacy will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 10 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
