Obituary

Matthew Dwayne Kyle, born July 2, 1984, to Gary Kyle and Michele Raney, left this world far too soon on August 10, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Curtis and Louise Kyle; & his maternal grandparents, Maxine Raney and John Raney, Sr., his uncle, Marty Kyle; and cousin, Jessica Kyle.

Matt leaves behind his beloved son, Kendall Kyle; his parents, Gary Kyle and Michele Raney; stepmother, Linnie McCook; and countless family and friends. I know Matt would want to mention his Aunt 'Laine & Uncle John Raney along with his cousins/sisters Sloan & Lexie Raney, Aunt Missy Raney & Uncle Mark Ross, his cousins, Dustin Curtis & Dylan Mattingly, his Aunt Joan & Pat Ramsay, his cousins, Kat & Judd Kyle, Molly & Eric Bowers, Aunt Thea & Uncle Mike Kyle & cousins, Kandyce Long & Kurt & Abbey Kyle. A special mention and thank you to Elizabeth "Liz" Castleman-Kyle for all she did and is doing to help with the celebration of his life.

Matt was a beautiful soul who made others feel loved, cared for, and at ease. He was kind, generous, and always willing to help, often putting others before himself. If someone needed him, Matt showed up.

Matt faced battles throughout his life that were greater than anyone should have to endure, yet he repeatedly found the strength to rebuild. In recent years, he created a life he was proud of, became an important part of his family and community, built a thriving business, and worked hard to provide for those he loved. His faith in God remained an important part of who he was.

Matt’s life is a reminder to keep fighting, keep rebuilding, and never give up. His story should inspire those who loved him to fight harder, live better, and choose hope. His life was not defined by his struggles, but by the love, kindness, faith, and generosity he gave to others.

He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave, lives he touched, and memories he created will remain forever.

A memorial service will be held at Ashby Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, at 10:00 AM. Officiated by Bro. Kim Hammer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to John 3:16 Ministries in Matt’s honor.
