Max Edward Skaggs, 76, of Bauxite, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was born on October 12th.

Max served in the United States Army for three years before starting his career as a firefighter. After serving for 26 years as a firefighter, he retired from the North Little Rock fire department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, B. E. and Johnnie Skaggs, and by his life partner and best friend, Wanda Rounsaville.

He is survived by daughters Tracy Lynn Skaggs and Tina Clift (Jeff), and Wanda's children Ron Johnson and Rhonda Tarnowsky (Mark). He is also survived by his grandchildren Nick Garrett, Megan Spicer (Garrison), Rachel Garrett and Allie Tarnowsky (Jonathan), Zachary Johnson (Sarah), and Macie Johnson (Parker); and the mother of his children and friend, Joan Landreth.

His family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and the VA Hospital for their dedication and care of Max.

Visitation will be Thursday April 13th, 2023 from 6pm-8pm. The funeral will be held at 1pm on Friday April 14th, 2023 at Ashby's Chapel; burial will follow at Bauxite Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Zachary Johnson, Jeff Clift, Garrison Spicer, Derek Jones, Dustin Jones, and Mitchell Elder.  Honorary pallbearers are Harlon Hobbs, Nicky Hobbs, Eddie Jones, Aubrey Phillips, Larry Samples, and James George.
