Obituary

Maxie "Max" Dean Brown, 88, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on May 3, 2026.

Max was born on June 16, 1937, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Robert and Eula May Brown. He lived a full and hardworking life, known for his steady hands, kind heart, and deep love for his family.

Max married his forever sweetheart, Christy Brown on May 9, 1988. Together, they shared years of companionship, laughter, and love that remained a cornerstone of his life.

A skilled house builder by trade, Max took great pride in the homes he built and the legacy he created through his work. He also served his country in the National Guard. Outside of work, Max found joy in traveling with his wife Christy in their motorhome, watching classic westerns, and reading about cowboys—simple pleasures that reflected his love for adventure and the open road.

Max was a man of faith and a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church. His life was grounded in his beliefs, and he carried those values into the way he treated others—with warmth, humility, and quiet strength.

He is survived by his children, Danny Brown (Mischelle) of Alexander and Jeff Brown (Debbie) of Sherwood; his grandchildren, Quintin Brown, Kasey Brown, Austin Brown (Aridae), and Jasper Brown; his great-grandchild, Taylor Brown; his sister-in-law, Roxanna; stepchildren, Jeff Mabry, Janet Waddle and Jodi Westbrook.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eula May Brown; his beloved wife, Christy Brown; and his brother, Bobby Brown.

A visitation will be held at Ashby Funeral Home, 108 W Narroway, Benton, AR, on May 6, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 9:00 a.m.

Max will be remembered for his hard working spirit, his love of family, and the quiet, steady way he lived his life. He leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, faith, and love that will continue through all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Quintin Brown, Jasper Brown, Taylor Brown, Justin Jackson, Logan Fogler and Brent Westbrook.
