Mayrose Dison Ezell of Benton passed away on October 9, 2023. She was 97 years old. Born on October 3, 1926, in Center Star, Alabama, to Clarence Dison and Olean Hays Dison, she attended college and worked for the phone company before moving with her husband, James Ezell, and daughter Teressa to Benton in the mid-1950s. She spent most of her career working for the Benton Courier before retiring in 1988 to devote more time to her gardening projects. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Ruth Slaton. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Shumway and Helen Foster of Crystal River, Florida; daughter Teressa Rose Ezell (Russell Murphy) of Saint Charles, Missouri; son James Ezell III of Benton, and six grandchildren: Michael Murphy (Claudia Damiani) of Fremont, California, Sara Flannery Murphy (Ryan Lowe) of St. George, Utah, Gabriel Murphy (Meagan) of Ballwin, Missouri,  Raphael Murphy (Taylor) of Pensacola, Florida, Anna Murphy of Clayton, Missouri, and John Murphy of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She also leaves behind two step-grandchildren: Sean Murphy (Laura) of Boise, Idaho and Matthew Murphy (Casey Dacanay) of El Cerrito, California, and six great-grandchildren: Finn Murphy of El Cerrito, Eden Murphy of Saint Charles, Miles Lowe and August Murphy of St. George, Jude Murphy of Pensacola, and Emma Murphy-Damiani of Fremont.
