Meda Hertha Scott (Grafe) was born March 6th, 1931 along with a twin sister, Martha, to Albert and Frieda Grafe. She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Avilla and taught in the children's Sunday school classes and vacation Bible school for many years. She had a strong and abiding faith in Jesus, her Savior. She was blessed with an abundant amount of faith and love.

Her family was her proudest possession. She was always there when you needed her and tried to look for the best in everything. She worked for 21 years at Timex Corporation. During this time, she took her son, Gerald, Jr. (Jerry) to the school for the blind in Little Rock every morning and brought him home every afternoon. She worked for Bryant Public Schools for 18 years in food service. In the afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays she cared for the elderly. She eventually went full time into elderly caregiving. She remained in this service for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gerald, her son Jerry, grandson, Bobby Brazil, brother, Bernard Grafe, all of Avilla. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Anne Smith of Florida, Lena Thompson of Grand Rapids, MI and Martha Praasterink of Michigan.

Survivors include, one son, Dennis Scott of Avilla, three daughters, Connie Brewer (Joe) of Avilla, Sherry Plain of Benton, and Robin Hutchens (Michael) of Long Beach, CA. Ten grandchildren, Steven Brazil (Melinda) of Benton, Breanna Baker (Jonathan), Jackie Brazil (Chris) of Benton, Karen Brazil of Avilla, Jesse Brian Brukes (Catherine) of Benton, Sarah smith (Carl) of Benton, Denny Scott (Ramona) of Yuma, AZ, Jason Scott (Felicia) of Avilla, Alecia Scott of Long Beach, CA. Twenty great-grandchildren, Jessica Cogburn (Brandon) of Benton, Julie Brazil of Little Rock, Bailey Brazil of Searcy, Boe Brazil of Avilla, Ben Brazil of Avilla, Harley Burks of Benton, Gunner Burks of Benton, Jaeger Burks of Benton, Nate Scott of Avilla, Dillon Scott of Avilla, Jana Marie Scott of Yuma, AZ, Jessica Scott of Spokane, WA, Abigail McBride (Andrew) of Benton, Joshua Sudbury of East End, Jodee Griffin (Garrett) of Watson Chapel, Mary Ellynne Smart (Tylor) of Haskell, David Baker of Benton, Kynlee Patrick of Huntsville, Kenzy Patrick of Huntsville, Caydence Brazil of Benton. Great-great grandchildren Lillie Rose McBride of Benton, Karysn Smith of Benton, Blakely Smith of Benton, Carraway June Cogburn of Benton and Cove Cogburn of Benton.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday January 24th at the Zion Lutheran Church in Avilla. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
