Melba J. Miller, born April 25,1930, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Ramon Miller and her parents, Webb and Laura Ferrell; brother and sister-in-law, Webb Ferrell Jr. and (Joyce), daughter-in-law, Joy Miller, and great-grandsons James Miller Davis and Wyldan Fite.
Melba leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Mike Miller of Russellville; daughters, Pat Foreman and Ramona (Tony) Phifer. She was a cherished grandmother to Ashley (Carl) Davis, Anthony (Kim) Miller, Russ (Amy) Elrod, Ryan (Karen) Elrod, Clint (Kayla) Phifer, Laura (Justin) Martin, and Josh (Rachel) Phifer. Her legacy lives on through her 17 great-grandchildren.
Melba was a faithful member of Sharon Baptist Church for 77 years, serving as church treasurer until the age of 85. When she could no longer drive, she began attending First Baptist Church in Benton, where she immediately found joy and companionship in a wonderful ladies Sunday School class.
One of Melba's special ministries was making homemade sourdough rolls, which she lovingly delivered to those who were sick, shut-ins, friends, family and neighbors. It's impossible to count how many pans of rolls brought comfort, smiles, and touched lives. She was always encouraging others to keep their faith, be kind, and love one another. Everyone who knew her, loved her, and she loved them right back.
Melba also had a deep love for gospel music, which brought her great joy throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering encouragement.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church in Selph Hall followed by services at 2:00 PM in Selph Hall. Ministers will be Bro. Clay Cunningham and Bro. Edd Spurlock. Burial will be at Sharon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Sharon Cemetery Assocation, 705 Bitterroot Dr., Benton, Arkansas 72019.
