Michael Lloyd Doughty, age 75, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Saline Memorial Hospital.  He was born April 12, 1951 in Benton, Arkansas, the son of the late Joe Clyde Doughty and Edith Lloyd Doughty who is approaching her 100th birthday next year.

Mike graduated from Benton High School in 1969 and retired from the City of Benton in 2016.

Besides his father, Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Brad Doughty.

He is survived by his mother, Edith Lloyd Doughty; sister, Debbie Doughty Cushing and her husband Bobby; brother, Joe Doughty all of Benton; nephew, Max Doughty of Conway; niece, Kim Doughty McCannon and her husband Zack; two great-nephews, Winfield McCannon and Leo McCannon all of Perryville; his devoted & trusty dog, Bob; and other family & friends who will miss him a lot.

Mike was an avid collector of vintage items.  He loved going to flea markets, thrift stores, and antique stores searching for pieces that were meaningful to him.

A man of few words, Mike had deep feelings and a very strong connection to his family.  His path in life was complicated at times, but he navigated it in his own way.  His dealings with cancer for 6 years changed his life considerably, but he learned to make the most of each day he was given.

A special thanks to Saline Memorial Hospital, 5th floor staff, and Gentiva Hospice for exceptional care & support to the family.  An extra thanks to Trina Redden, Jennifer Bridges, and Megan Spriggs with Gentiva who showed him kindness during his final days.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held at a later date.  Cremation will be handled by Ashby Funeral Home.
