His valiant battle with cancer and myelodysplastic syndrome ended for Michael Lynn Rowan, 57, of Benton, Arkansas on May 9, 2023, when he was called to his heavenly home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Michael was born on October 16, 1965, to Paul J. and Dava Jean Garrett Rowan.

He graduated from Paron High School in 1983, without having missed a day of school throughout his twelve years. Following his graduation, he was employed at Little Rock Water Works at Lake Winona, Colonial Nursing Home, Arkansas Highway Department and the City of Benton Parks and Waste Water Departments.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Dava Rowan, and grandparents, H.D. and Eunice Garrett and Jethro and Ruby Rowan.

He is survived by his father, Paul J. Rowan; brothers, David (Debbie) Rowan and Ronnie (Debbie) Rowan, all of Benton. Also surviving him are his nieces, Amber Nichols and Morgan (Conley) Sims as well as great-nephews, Ethan and Eric Nichols and Kase Sims; great-niece, Myra Sims and his beloved dog, Rainey.

Michael was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church. A Graveside Service will be held at Gravel Hill Cemetery at 6519 AR-9, Benton on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will be at the Gravel Hill Cemetery from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. before services on Monday, May 15 ^th .

The family wishes to thank all of his medical team at CARTI, his physicians and nurses in SICU at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock and the compassionate team at Saline Memorial Hospital Outpatient Department. A special thank you is also given to Tonya Poston, RN at Saline Memorial, to whom was entrusted the care of Rainey during Michael's hospitalization.
