Obituary

Nancy Jane (Rhodes) Carter Collins, 72, of Benton, AR, passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Nancy joyfully entered the Kingdom of God after a life fully lived. She was born in Wellston, Ohio on August 9, 1951, to the late Thomas and Jane (Scott) Rhodes. She moved to Belleville, IL in her early years where many friends and memories were made. She graduated from Belleville Township High School East in 1969, then went on to attend Eastern University in Charleston, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Judy VanOust.

In 1972 she married the late Thomas Allen Carter of Little Rock, AR and had two children, Elizabeth Anne (Carter) Douglas, and Jason Thomas Carter. She attended and served Fellowship Bible Church of Little Rock for many years, proudly working fulltime in their media ministry. She had an incredibly gifted creative mind with an aesthetic eye. She cared deeply for how the church and other projects were visually represented. Her church represented our beautiful Savior well, and she wanted to do everything possible to represent Him as the beautiful, intelligent and loving creator that He is.

After retiring she moved to Texarkana, AR and went on to remarry the late Dr. Stan Collins. She lovingly added bonus daughter Casey (Paul) Schrier, bonus grandson Jackson, bonus grand-daughter Sarah, and bonus son Kyle Collins of Dallas TX, to the crew. What a blast she had loving on and adventuring with them.

As an amazing mom and nana, she had a heart for recovering addicts and participated on the board of directors for Mary's House of Restoration. She also volunteered as lead graphics designer for Inreco Cartel Recovery Apparel.

Mom, Nancy, Nana, Nanca is survived by her son Jason Carter of Little Rock. Daughter Elizabeth Carter Douglas soon to be Studdard (Rickey) of Benton, grand-daughters Gracie Jane and Piper Rose and bonus grandson Tommy Dutton.
