Nolen Gene Smith, 87, of Bryant, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026 in Little Rock.  He was born September 25, 1938 in Ponca, Nebraska to Charles Francis and Estella Hopkins Smith.  Nolen retired after 30 years with the City of Bryant, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Alexander.  He and his wife, Judith Prange Smith, married in 1960 in Van Nuys, California.  They have lived in Bryant since 1966.

He is survived by his wife; son, Nolen Smith (Tracey) of Wellington, New Zealand; daughter, Libby Smith of Little Rock; sisters-in-law, Janie Holdridge of Murrieta, California and Lavonne Smith of Ontario, California; brothers-in-law, Jim Prange (Claudia) of Franklin, Tennessee and Jerry Prange of Porterville, California; grandchildren, Molly Smith and Lucas Smith of Wellington, New Zealand; a special cousin, LaNora Morey of Sioux City, Iowa; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nolen is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clifford Smith, Keith Smith, Kent Smith, Violet Kenyon, and Marlene Condon; and a special cousin, Dan Morey.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday February 18 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Alexander with the Rev. Steven Teske officiating. Friends and family are invited to visitation for an hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery on Chicot Road.
