Norma Jean Covington age 80 of Bauxite passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025. She was born August 19, 1944 in Bauxite. Norma grew up in the Sardis Community and attended Sardis Methodist Church, where she was saved and baptized.

She lived in a small house in Sardis where her family farmed. She learned to sew, can vegetables, and served with church activities.

Norma graduated from Bryant High School in 1962, and married Max Covington in December 1962. They have three children, Scott, Michelle and Julie, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker for many years but also worked in the daycare business twelve years before retiring. Norma's main interest was reading, but she also liked to do word searches, baking and going to flea markets. She loved spending time with family and friends, and helping neighbors when needed.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday night at Ashby Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at McPherson Cemetery in Sardis. Speaker will be Carl Goss.
