Paul bailey Childress, age 70, of Benton/Haskell passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the home of his daughter Julia Montgomery in Malvern, AR. He was born January 1, 1954 in Benton, AR. son of Roy and Jewell Childress.

Paul was married to Lois Maureen Childress for 28 years until she preceded him in death on April 10, 2024. Their love was so strong and true that they could not stay apart and God brought them together again.

Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman when he wasn't doing his career as a heavy equipment mechanic, he taught three of his grandsons the way of the land starting with his first born and namesake Jacob Paul. He never missed an opportunity to be out hunting and fishing with them.

Paul is survived by caregiver daughter and son and Law, Julia and Larry Montgomery, daughters, Jennifer (Roberto), Kim (Lea), five grandchildren; Jacob Paul Galloway, of North Platte, NE, Caleb Montgomery, of North Platte, NE, Brandon Porterfield, of Hot Springs, AR., Olivia Romero, Hot Springs, AR., Benjamin Rubio, of Hot Springs, AR., one great-grandchild, Levi Porterfield of Hot Springs, AR. Paul is also survived by one sister and brother in law, Barbara and Leland Turney, brother and sister in law, Harlan and Carolyn Childress, He also has several nieces and nephews but wanted one special to him nephew mentioned, Richard Turney.

A celebration of life gathering will be held by the family and friends that took care of him, came and saw and called him during his illness at a later date.
