Richard Henry Kuonen age 76, of Hot Springs passed away Monday May 15, 2023. He was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas, November 21, 1946 to Gladys and Oscar Kuonen, who precede him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, LaRose Cartwright Kuonen and their children Hank Kuonen (Kitty Smith) of Little Rock and Mark Kuonen (Jackie Bolin) of Dallas, Texas.

He is also survived by his sister Betty (Joe) Rogers of Maumelle and sister-in-law and brothers-in- law, Martha Moery, Robert (Sonny) Moery of Carlisle and Fred Perkins of Little Rock as well as many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.

Richard (aka Ricky, Rick) grew up in North Little Rock where he graduated from NLR High in 1964 and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1969. He was a member of U of A fraternity Alpha Kappa Lambda. After graduation he worked at Travelers Insurance where he met his wife, LaRose, and they were married in 1972. In 1977 the family moved to Plano, Texas for a job opportunity with Southland Life Insurance and returned to Arkansas in 1985 and formed Kuonen Insurance Marketing where he continued to work until retirement in 2017.

He loved nothing more than spending time with his sons, daughters-in-law, friends, family and grand dogs. He was the absolute best father, husband, uncle, friend and kindest man and will be missed by so many.

A celebration of life will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, Arkansas, with Reverend Stephen Coburn and Reverend Ben Crismon officiating on May 18, 2023, at 10:00a.m.

Cremation arrangements by Ashby Funeral Home, Benton, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
