Richard Andrew Womack, 76, of Benton, Arkansas, died at home September 6, 2026. His hope was in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which allowed him to fight the good fight. And now he rests. 

He was born in Magnolia, Arkansas, in 1950 to W. C. (Jabo) Womack and Doris Womack Hanson. Richard attended El Dorado High School before studying Business Administration at Henderson State University. 

Richard was preceded in death by his father W. C. (Jabo) Womack; mother Doris Womack Hanson; sister Mary Self; brother-in-law David Self; brother Duke Womack; and nephews Mike Self and Duke Womack Jr. 

Richard is survived by his wife of 53 years Brenda; sons Richard Womack (Brandi) of Donaldson and Brian Womack (Kristi) of Valley Springs; grandchildren Richard (Kaytlyn), Rhett (Tori), Ross (Calista), Reid, Bella, Maria, Rachael, Avery (Dawson), Drake, Wyatt, and Emory; great-grandchildren Jonah, Luke, Parker Kayt, and Wade; nephews Brock Self (Ashley), Josh Womack, Jed Womack (Lindsey); nieces Sundi King (Brian), Jenny Haney, Emily Jones (Travis), Ginger Self, and a multitude of friends and business acquaintances. 

Richard worked fifteen years in the corporate world before starting a successful business in 1987 wholesaling handles and tools in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. He was semi-retired but continued serving several longtime loyal customers. Richard was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Benton where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Director. He coached men’s slow pitch softball for years and refereed junior and senior high basketball and football. 

Richard loved the outdoors and was able to fish and hunt all over the country and in Canada, Africa, and Mexico. He loved traveling in the RV and considered his three-month trip to Alaska the pinnacle of his adventures! He loved hosting and entertaining family and friends. His biggest source of pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved chasing them all over the state cheering them on in their various endeavors. 

Richard fought a five-year battle with cancer with courage, grace, and gratitude. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his generous loving heart. 

Pallbearers will be grandsons Richard, Rhett, Ross, Reid, Drake, and Wyatt Womack and friends Damon McDonald and John Clements. Honorary pallbearers will be Scotty Jones, Bill Threet, Randall Young, Ray Bowman, Dick Tucker, Richard McGuire, Skeeter Brosius, and Dr. Randy Jones. 

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 11, at First Baptist Church Benton in Selph Hall with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Stamps at 3:30 p.m. Dr. Brian Womack and Pastor Clay Cunningham will be officiating.
