Obituary

Rev. Robert L. "Bob" Stuckey, age 93, of Benton, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.  He was born at home in Grant County, Arkansas on May 15, 1930.

He is preceded in death by his parents, R.L. and Iva Stuckey; his wife of 63 years, LaWanda Stuckey; four sisters and two brothers, Geraldine Christensen, Laurine Weaver, Pauline Magby, Katherine Jeanette Stuckey, A.C. (Bill) Stuckey, and Ronald Stuckey.

Bob is survived by two sons, Michael Stuckey of Benton and Bruce Stuckey (Rachel) of Erie, Colorado; daughter, Marcie L. Stuckey of Benton; three grandchildren, Andy Stuckey of Erie, Colorado, Keylee (Nate Salgado) of Erie, Colorado, and Robert Stuckey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren, Chase and Manner Stuckey of Colorado, Avien, Ezra, Nation, Luna, Benton, and Sonny Salgado of Colorado; sister, Peggy George (Tony) of Hensley; sister-in-law, Pat Stuckey of Benton; a special niece, Pam Hall of Benton; along with several nieces and nephews.

He had begun working at the Sterling Stores Warehouse in Little Rock as a 16 year old.  Shortly after he married his wife in 1950, he left the warehouse and served two years in the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He came back to finish a total of 38 years working at the Sterling Stores Warehouse.  Bob and his family joined Highland Heights Baptist Church in Benton in 1963, and while working there as a bi vocational minister he filled many leadership/director roles through the years.  He was still working as a minister there until just weeks before his death.  Bob was loved, respected, and appreciated by many people he came into contact with through his ministry throughout the years.

Thanks to the medical services and kindness of Dr. Cathcart and her staff, The Arkansas Hospital Staff in Bryant, and the staff at CHI St. Vincent.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 5 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 6 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park.  Michael Stuckey will be officiating.
