Obituary

Robert David "David" Rhodes, 69, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on March 8, 2025. He was born on December 6, 1955, in Benton, where he remained a lifelong resident and member of Northside Church of Christ. A proud Hornets fan, he played quarterback for the Bryant High School Hornets as a senior in 1974. Later, he dedicated ten years of service to the Bryant School District.

A true jack-of-all-trades, David could fix anything and had a hand in building or repairing countless homes in Saline County. Whether in his shop working on a project or lending a hand to others, he was always busy creating or fixing something. David and his wife, Brenda, were best friends who did everything together. Their love and partnership were evident to all who knew them.

He had a deep love for the outdoors, spending much of his time camping, fishing, and hunting. He truly lived to fish. After retiring from Baptist Hospital in Little Rock in 2021, he and Brenda, spent several months each year camping where they met their special "camping family" and made unforgettable memories together. He especially loved sharing his passion for hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.

In February 2023, David suffered a massive heart attack, one that should have taken him then. His family feels incredibly blessed to have had two more years with him, cherishing every moment.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Rhodes; his father, Walter Rhodes; his children, Brandi McAlister (Barrett) and Chad Rhodes (Melissa); grandchildren, Jackson, Grayson, Elliott, and Jolee who loved their DaDa dearly; his sister, Debbie Hobbs (Tommy,) and nephews Tony and Jason Hobbs.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Sammie Rhodes.
