Robert Joe Paxton, 79, of Benton, Arkansas, entered his heavenly home on November 8, 2023.

He was born in North Little Rock, AR, on March 10, 1944, to the late Royal and Sylvia Paxton, who taught him to love Jesus and focus his incredible energy by working with his hands to create beautiful things. His siblings are Sue (Dan) Richards and the late Royal Paxton, Jr. Bobby graduated from Benton High School and had an incredible career as a professional airplane pilot that allowed him to see many parts of the world. He retired as chief pilot for Wehco Media.

Bobby is survived by his high school sweetheart, Raymelle Bethard Paxton, and they were married for 61 years. They have two children, Mellisa Paxton (Ken Verhoestra) and Robert Paxton (Shannon), and four grandchildren, Lance Clifton, Khrystyne Clifton, Savannah Paxton, and Scarlett Paxton.

His love for the Lord was evident throughout his life as he was a charter member of Hot Springs Baptist Church and a current member of First Baptist Church of Benton. Working with the Gideons and sharing God's word with others brought him great joy.

Bob will be remembered for his love of all things related to boats and motorcycles. Waterskiing, sailing, and riding dirt bikes brought him joy, especially since it involved his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop, where he worked with wood and metal and tinkering with anything imaginable.

Friends and family will gather at First Baptist Church, Benton, on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Visitation will occur at 11 AM, and the Memorial Service will follow at noon. In lieu of memorials, please donate to Benton Gideon Camp, PO Box 415, Benton, AR, 72018.
