Robert George Walker, age 90, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, September 9, 2026, after a long illness. He was born on March 2, 1936, in Muskegon, Michigan to James & Pearl (Smith) Walker. Bob was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War Era.
He married Barbara Sherman in1956. They were married for 15 years and had four children. He married Shelby Jean Evans October 2, 1971, adopting Rob Walker, and later Felicia (Walker) Higbee and Caitlin Walker.
He enjoyed many fishing, boating, and other adventures with his children and loved going to auctions with Shelby. He retired from Hartford Insurance Company in March 1994. Bob enjoyed fishing, boating, reading, auctions, nature, and spending time with his family. His family rarely saw him without a book in the immediate vicinity.
He is survived by his children: Diana (Walter) Hallman, Wade Walker, Rose (Rick) Hale, Lisa Walker, Robert Walker, Felicia (RJ) Higbee, and Caitlin Walker; grandchildren: Stefanie (Dave) Hollenbach, Heather Clarke Flowers, Jennifer Hallman, Colin Clarke, Derek Clarke, Camryn (Robert) Gregory, and Kayla Walker; great-grandchildren: Lily, Kristofer, Lucy, James, Rorick, and Mason; brothers & sisters: Frank (Nancy) Walker, Helen Cipolla, Carol Jarvis, David (Judith) Walker, Steve Walker, Richard (Devvy) Walker; sisters-in-law, Sinh Walker, Diane Walker; many nieces & nephews; and his dog Boggie.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shelby (Evans) Walker; brothers: James Walker, Gerald Walker, Norm Walker, Charles Walker, Mark Walker, Dennis Walker; sisters-in-law: Kathy Walker, Theresa Nelson, Mickie Walker, Linda Walker; and by his brothers-in-law: Joe Cipolla, Doug Jarvis, and Orson Griffes.
There will be a graveside service October 10th at 1:00 pm at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma.
There will be a memorial service 10:00 am on October 24th at Fremont United Methodist Church in Fremont, Michigan, immediately followed by a luncheon.
