Ruby Katherine "Kathy" Freeman Petty age 68, of Benton, Ar gained her angel wings on March 2, 2024. Kathy was in St Vincent Hospital hospice in Little Rock, Ar with her friend Natalie Parnell by her side. She was born January 11th, 1956 in Fort Smith, Ar. She was adopted at the age of 6 months old to a couple J. C. Freeman and his beloved wife Ruby Freeman of Benton.

Ms Petty was preceded in death by her parents J. C. and Ruby Freeman, her son Bruce Owens, her boyfriend James Lee Owens, her sister Mary Petty, and her nephew Bobby Sanders.

Kathy graduated Benton high School in 1975. She loved all animals, especially cats. Her favorite color was purple. She loved babies. She had a big heart, she loved sweet tea, and any type of candy. Everywhere she visited she always liked to help. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She enjoyed dressing up during Halloween and doing other activities. She's been involved in Natalie's life all her life when Natalie had her second son Kathy was more involved. The last two years Kathy suffered dementia. Kathy remained strong as family/friends watched over time how this disease took over our loved one, it was so painful. A long goodbye as we call it. Raise awareness against your loved ones if you notice changes in memory loss.

A private memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date.
