Steven "Casey" Harris passed away peacefully on Sunday October 6th, 2024 in Poplar Bluff Missouri, while on the job with Union Pacific Railroad. The heavens opened, and the Lord stretched out His hand and welcomed Casey home. Casey was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Casey was born to Gary "Steve" Harris (Denese) and Denise Chism (Clint) on July 31, 1980 in Benton, Arkansas.

Casey was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles "C.E." and Jean Harris, William and Natalie Dillon.

He is the brother of: Kim (Lance) Robbins, Carly (Shane) Morris, Candy (Monty) West, Joey (Shannon) Chism, and Caleb Chism. Casey is a nephew to: Bruce Harris, Jackie Harris, Vicki (Jeff) Steele, Bill Dillon, Brenda Chism, Debbie Dillion, Linda (John) Gunnell.

Casey has many nieces and nephews: Taren (Mason) Porach, Brody Chism, Clay (Carley) Price, Alisha (Cody) Martin, Riley West, Olivia Chism, Diamond Morris, Dylan (Alyvia) Morris, Gunnar Morris, Jack Morris.  Casey was "Uncle Casey / Buddy" to: Sadie Robbins, Millie Robbins and Lakyn Morris and loved them dearly.

Casey is a cousin to Adam (Kadi) Harris, Blake (Rachel) Harris, Katie (Jace) Holmes, Melanie (Aaron) Martin and Mandy (Jeff) Bennett. He also has many more family and friends in his circle that he loved fiercely.

Casey was a 1998 graduate of Bryant High School. He later completed HVAC school at Pulaski Technical College in 2001.  He owned and operated Harris Air for 15 years, putting his heart and soul into his business. In May of 2018, he furthered his professional development at Union Pacific Railroad, in the capacity of Conductor and an Engineer, obtaining his Engineer license in 2022. He was a jack of all trades and a mentor to many.

He enjoyed drag racing Fox Body Mustangs, so much so that he disassembled his cherished white mustang to restore it, but never got around to it.  He treasured his time and had a lot of enjoyment with helping at the dirt track. He had a passion for working on his cars and trucks, never selling one of them.

He had an uncanny ability of checking up on people.  If you were one of the ones he checked up on, consider yourself blessed because he was good to the ones he checked on. He always seemed to be there when you needed him. He loved everyone of y'all.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00pm Friday October 11th at Ashby Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be at noon Saturday October 12th at Pine Crest Cemetery. Everyone please join us in reminiscing, supporting each other, and celebrating his life.
