Nagel
Dec 22, 1948 — Dec 25, 2025
Benton
Terry John Nagel, 77, of Benton, Arkansas, was born on December 22, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Charles and Elizabeth Nagel, who preceded him in death. He passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Terry was raised in Overland Park, Kansas, and completed his education. He proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.
Following his military service, Terry ultimately settled in Benton, Arkansas, which he proudly called home. For 35 years, he worked alongside his brother as General Manager of A-Auto Salvage—a job he truly loved. Terry was deeply respected and admired by his employees, colleagues, and friends.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Elaine Howard Nagel. He was a devoted father to his sons, Brian Nagel (Amber) and Keith Nagel, and daughter, Jessica Mountjoy (Jordan). He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Louise Nagel, who passed in infancy. He was also a cherished stepfather to Jason Burge (Caryn), Jeremy Burge (Nikita), and Tara Worner (Mike). Terry was blessed with nine grandchildren and was joyfully awaiting the arrival of his first great grandson, expected in April. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Nagel (Sharon), along with two nieces and their families.
Terry dearly loved his family and friends and had a love of the outdoors, NASCAR, model trains, and he took great pride in his collection of antique automobiles. Known for his humor and infectious laughter, Terry had a gift for storytelling and a genuine love for life. He was a joy to be around and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will be forever cherished.
