Thomas Gordon Griffin, age 72, of Benton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Alcoa Pines Health and Rehabilitation.  He was born February 28, 1951, the youngest child of Thomas Burkett Griffin and Frieda Marr Justice Griffin.

Thomas, more commonly known as Gordon, retired after 29 years of award winning service at the Little Rock branch of Gas Equipment Company, a field in which he had been around most of his life.  A place where his co-workers, and often clients, would affectionately refer to him as Gordo or G-man. He was very passionate and proud of his work there and has left an impression on his customers still to this day. Though, some know him best for his out-of-this-world tattoo work that he had so passionately collected over the last few years at Relics Tattoo Studio, where he became a weekly regular, if only to drop off snacks and "pester" the crew. He was an "Old School" kind of guy who always had a useful piece of advice or snarky comeback. This also translated into a passion for classic rock, which could often be heard playing somewhere in his house at any given point in time. Especially when he was in his garage working on his other great interest, his matte-black Harley. Gordon graduated Benton High School class of 1969 and was also given the title of Class President. He was a common face at reunions and gatherings the class has thrown over the years and took great pride in his graduating class. But above all else, he had a deep, unyielding love for his family. He was always there with a listening ear, reassuring words, a relatable joke, a hug, or even just a can or 2 of olives. He also took an immense amount of pride in his grandchildren, whom he would talk your ear off about if you'd let him. Gordon has touched many lives throughout the years and will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diana Mastin. He is survived by his two sons, Timothy Gordon Griffin and wife Taylor and Thomas Gerald Griffin and wife Tingting; two grandchildren, Thomas Sihan Griffin and Norah Nianxia Griffin; and sister, Janelle Payne.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 20 at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21 at Ashby Funeral Home.
