Thomas E. Miller Jr., of Benton, died Saturday April 20, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born January 22, 1934 in Tull, Arkansas. Thomas started as a farmer then on to serving in the United States Air Force as a TSGT Military Police in Jacksonville A.F.B. (AR), Monaco Caracas (Venezuela), Dyes A.F.B. Abilene (TX), Thule (Greenland), Laredo A.F.B. Laredo (TX) to retiring after 22 years at Eielson A.F.B. Fairbanks (AK). He then moved his family to Anchorage, Alaska where he worked for (BP) British Petroleum on the Alaskan Pipeline. After 10 years, moved back to Texas then home to Arkansas for his final destination in Benton and back to farming.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Lula Mae (Willis); parents, Thomas Edison Sr. and Sophia; step-mother, Evelyn; two sisters, Mae Clark and Iva Dean Johnson; and half-brother, David Miller.
Thomas is survived by a sister, Eva Harrison. Thomas and his wife raised three children, Anita (Michael) May, Peggy Sue (Alfredo) Charo, and Thomas Edison III (Lisa) Miller; his six grandchildren were a constant source of joy and inspiration, Miranda (Charo) Dodson, James May, Wendy (Miller) Quintanilla, Sara (Miller) Lehr, William (Miller) Lehr, and Justin Miller; along with his seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Tull. Paul Carlon will be officiating.
