Thomas Earl Wallace, lovingly known to many as "Tommy," passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on October 7, 1939, Tommy lived a life rooted in faith, service, family, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love that will be cherished for generations. Tommy was married for nearly 64 years to the love of his life, Mary Helen Walker Wallace. Together, they built a strong and loving family and were a true example of devotion and partnership. Their time together was filled with simple joys—Friday night date nights at David's Burgers, Taco Tuesdays with family, and countless moments spent supporting those they loved.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Helen Wallace; his five children: Scott Wallace (Laura), Karen Scarlett (Mark), Carol Matthews (Brad), Darren Wallace, and Sharon Ballard; 11 grandchildren – Parker Wallace (Drew), Kristen Scarlett, Dylan Wallace, Leann Cunningham (Josh), Kelsi Scarlett, McKenzie Gentry (Daniel), Cameron Scarlett, Landon Wallace, Kalee Ballard, Abby Matthews, Lainey Wallace; 5 great‑grandchildren – Slater, Cooper, Maverick, Lada, and Rosemary; and his sister, Shirley Kaiser Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Clarice Wallace; his sisters, Nancy Meyers and Bobby Westbrook; and his brothers, Grant Garth, Sherman and Mike Wallace.

Tommy spent his career in the appliance repair industry, most notably working for Montgomery Ward for over 30 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to fix just about anything. Even after retirement, Tommy continued to serve others by working as a para‑professional at Bryant Schools for nearly 17 years, where he supported students and staff with the same patience and kindness that defined his life.

A lifelong member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church, Tommy served faithfully as a deacon for more than 60 years and taught Sunday School, impacting generations through his quiet leadership and steadfast faith. His faith extended far beyond the church walls—each Christmas, Tommy and Mary helped collect hundreds of Christmas gifts packed in shoeboxes, personally delivering them to children in Mexico. This annual act of service reflected his deep belief in giving, compassion, and love for others.

Tommy was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and carried that sense of duty throughout his life. He was also deeply involved in the community, serving many positions on the Saline County Fair Board for over 25 years. One of his greatest joys was organizing the fair parade—a role he took great pride in. In 2024, Tommy and Mary were honored to serve as Grand Marshals of the rodeo parade, a recognition that meant so much to them both.

A huge fan of the Bryant Hornets, Tommy could always be found cheering from the stands. He never missed an opportunity to attend the events and activities of his children and grandchildren, believing strongly in showing up, supporting, and being present.

Tommy never met a stranger, and everyone knew and loved "Tommy" Wallace. His warmth, friendliness, and genuine care for others left a lasting mark on all who crossed his path.

A service celebrating Tommy's life will be held at Ashby Funeral Home, Benton, AR on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11am.

Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home 6-8pm on Thursday, April 23rd.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Mount Vernon Baptist Church or to the Little Rock Compassion Center.

Pallbearers will be Parker Wallace, Dylan Wallace, Cameron Scarlett, Landon Wallace, Daniel Gentry, and Josh Cunningham.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wiliam Bell, Jarvis Harper, and Saline County Fair Board.
