Obituary

W. Craig Stackhouse, age 70, of Benton, Arkansas, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 18, 2024. He was born June 11, 1954, in Little Rock, Arkansas to W. E. Billy Stackhouse, and Patsy A. Stackhouse. At Northeast High School in North Little Rock, Craig was a multi-sport athlete in martial arts, football and basketball, and received many awards and merits particularly in martial arts. Additionally, Craig's love of the outdoors would lead him to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He would continue to play football in college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University before leaving to pursue a career in nursing. Craig would later receive his RN through Baptist Health College at Little Rock and begin his career in nursing.

Craig began his nursing career at Baptist health where he had a decades long career. Additionally, he retired from Blue Cross & Blue Shield after over a decade of employment.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, W. E. Billy Stackhouse, and Patsy A. Stackhouse.

Craig is survived by his three sons W. Brandon Stackhouse, S. Blake Stackhouse, and Alex R. Stackhouse, as well as Zachary L. Sheridan who he viewed and loved like a son. Craig had two granddaughters, Sophie Stackhouse and Amelia Stackhouse as well as a brother, L. Mark Stackhouse, a sister, Pamela A. Stackhouse, two dogs and many special friends and neighbors.

Craig enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping around many of the forests and lakes of Arkansas, where he spent much of his time doing this with his family. One of Craig's greatest hobbies was the study of American history and scripture, both of which fascinated him.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Stackhouse, Blake Stackhouse, Alex Stackhouse, Zachary Sheridan, Clay Carver, and Travis Bono.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 26 at Pinecrest Memorial Park.  There will be an open visitation at Ashby Funeral Home.
