Wallace Max Duren passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025. He was born Jan. 26, 1930, to Luther and Paralee Duren. He grew up in the Malta, TX community and graduated from New Boston High School in 1948. Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, he married the love of his life, Lena Catherine Reed.

Preceded in death by wife, Lena Duren and brothers, Lowell,Owen, Lemuel,  and Lonnie Duren and sisters Rubalee Stingley, Ellorie Hillis, and Lessie Rue Purtle.

Max is survived by daughter Belinda (husband James Zalkovsky) sons Randy (wife Nancy Duren) and Tracy (husband Nathan Kelley), sister Ouida Lann, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 at 2pm at the Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, AR, officiated by Brother Mike Titsworth. Visitation will start at 1pm.

A graveside service will be held at Red Bayou Cemetery in New Boston TX Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 at 1 pm with Donny C. Duren officiating.
