William Merle Singleterry passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was born on January 29, 1932 in Benton Arkansas to the late Merle W. and Mary (Dutch) Singleterry. He attended Benton High School and the University of Corpus Christi in Texas.

Merle is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda Joyce Hill Singleterry of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; a brother, Bill Singleterry of Benton, AR, son, Michael (Debbie) Singleterry, daughter-in-law Ramona Singleterry, 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He loved each of his family members very much. He also loved Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lisa Singleterry, sons Gregory and Jeff Singleterry, and his sister, Carolyn Ferguson.

Employed by Reynolds Metals Company for 40+ years, he held Operations positions at 4 different refineries. Merle retired to Hot Springs Village in 1992 from the Worsley Aluminum Refinery in Western Australia as the Production Manager.

Merle followed most sports closely and enjoyed playing golf with his friends at every opportunity. After retiring, he was a member of Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church, attended the Faith and Fellowship Sunday School class and was a member of the Emmaus Community. He was a Stephen Minister for 3 years and frequently volunteered to help those in need.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association-Arkansas Chapter or Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church, 700 Balearic Road, Hot Springs Village, AR.
