Joe E. Hall went home to Jesus on Memorial Day, May 30th, 2022 at age 85.

Joe was born to Clifford and Marie Hall on June 30th, 1936 in Ringgold, Louisiana. He grew up on a farm and enjoyed learning carpentry from his father. In 1959, he received a Bachelors of Science in Geology from Centenary College of Louisiana. He later received a Master of Science in Education from the University of Southern California.

He met the love of his life and wife, Helen, in 1960. He knew she was the one for him when she spilled her Dr. Pepper all over his college paper. They married on January 19, 1961 and enjoyed over 60 years of wedded bliss. They had 2 children, Robert Clifford and Kellie Ann. Joe was a patriotic American who loved his country. He served as a B-52 navigator and electronics warfare officer in the Air Force for over 20 years and was fondly known to many as "Old Crow" or his call sign "Preacher."  His children followed in his footsteps and both served full careers in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, he became a principal of Shreve Christian Academy.

Joe enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, gardening, hunting, fishing and writing poetry. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. His faith sustained him through many obstacles. During their time in Shreveport, Joe and Helen attended both the Airline Drive and University Church of Christ, which had a profound impact on their faith and community with Christ.

Joe is preceded by his parents, Clifford and Marie Hall, sister Billie Thoeming, and  daughter in law, Kelly Hall. He is survived by His wife Helen, their children, Robert Clifford Hall and Kellie Ann Johnson, his two daughters Joani Rowland and Suzie Lester, son in-law Nathan Johnson and sister, Geri Hall. He was blessed to have 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Tina, Tiffianie, Katy, Joey and Joshua. His favorite bible passage was Romans Chapter 6.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made M.D. Anderson Cancer Research or M.D. Anderson Children's Art Project. A memorial will be held the 25th of June at 10:00 am at University Church of Christ in Shreveport, LA.
